Fall is just around the corner and WIP’s

It’s been a very hot and humid summer which is why I often lose interest in crocheting but now that fall isn’t too far off I’m ready to get working on projects. My first big project, only big because it’s chunky yarn (Bernat Baby Blanket). My daughter has those beautiful chunky knit blankets and hinted that she wanted me to make one for her. So, I went out and bought the yarn.
4 balls of Bernat Baby Blanket 300 gms each.

Sitting down binge watching tv or YouTube has helped me put in at least 2 hours a day. It’s amazing how fast this yarn works up. It’s also quite heavy. Really don’t notice till you take it off your lap. If you’re curious about the pattern it’s located here. I did adjust it by adding an extra 6 stitches as my hook was just a bit smaller than indicated in the pattern.

It's growing!

Another blanket I started which I am making is for my pop-up trailer. The trailer interior is browns and blues so I figured a blues and creams granny strip blanket would fit in perfectly with the color scheme. It’s not as quick to whip up as I expected. I don’t mind all the color changes as I’m not doing them every row. I’m off setting all the rows so they are not equal throughout the blanket.

I’ve been poking around Pinterest looking for some fall like crochet ideas and I’ve come across quite a few new ideas. It’s so easy to get lost on Pinterest. There is always something new. Often tho I end up on Ravelry. That too is another place you can just get lost looking for patterns for your pattern addiction. I can see some buffalo plaid hats and accessories in my future. I’ve been bitten by the buffalo plaid bug. I’ve already purchased some yarn for those projects with the intention of finding the perfect cosy hat pattern. I’ve one in mind but I’m still “shopping” around.
Thank you for visiting my blog. You’re welcome to follow me on social media. Cheers!
